Ugh, this was certainly a gig to remember. For all the wrong reasons though ... namely, no one turned up!! Well, a couple of people did, but they didn't stay because they were the only ones there.
The venue was a nightclub that had previously been a strip club and we were the first band playing there on it's relaunch but I think it still had a "reputation" so to speak. The manager was a top geezer though and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We killed a thoroughly disheartening couple of hours before the gig chatting to the bar staff wondering when people were gonna turn up. We eventually decided no one was going to turn up so we decided to play a few songs for the bar staff anyway. We just picked songs at random off the set list and we did in fact have a couple of people turn up while we were playing. They shouted out their appreciation between songs but before long they'd gone! So we wrapped up the short set, packed up and got the hell out of there.
