26th December 2008 - Shildon Civic Hall, Shildon

Pretty easy drive this one, only two and a half hours and with it being Boxing Day, the roads were nice and quiet. First time since I've moved to Cambridge that I've done a journey from Grimsby to a gig and back too - ah, the memories

It turned out to be quite a long night (we left town at 13:30 and got back about 3am) due to a requested arrival time of 16:00 and there being 4 bands playing and with us topping the bill it meant we didn't take to the stage until nearly 11pm, leaving it just gone midnight.

First band up were a local band called Stone Drifters playing all their own stuff. Pretty good stuff too and decent lads, they came up for a chat with us after our set, thanked us for letting them use some of our gear. Can't say fairer than that :) The Reet Hot Chilli Peppers followed and they went down really well, with loads of people in the audience dancing and singing along. Hot on their heels were Ha'waysis (great name ) who went down a storm too. Ourselves rounded the night off, the crowd receiving us very well, lots of dancing and singing and applause etc.

Overall, a quite enjoyable gig. Always good to meet and play with other bands and the crowd were really good. They lived up to the trend of the more north you get, the rowdy the crowd gets
