Cotswold Bamboo Charity Festival

We were approached about this gig after being seen by the Cotswold Bamboo Committee during our Mathew Street Festival performance. Suffice to say, we were delighted to have been asked to perform and equally delighted to be able to do further work for charity.

The Cotswold Bamboo Committe are a group of approx 10 people. Their idea was to organise a festival as an end of summer party for friends + family but all proceeds were to go to charity. On the back of the G8 conference and Live 8 they all wanted to do something for the Make Poverty History cause and so they came up with contributing half of the proceeds to Save the Children, who are heavily involved in aiding the masses in Niger for instance, and to contribute the other half to Childline as they have run into financial difficulties and rely on donations to keep operating.

This year's festival will run from 12.00pm on Saturday 24th September until 12.00pm Sunday 25th September. During the day on Saturday there will be a range of bands playing from across the UK, with DJ's taking over the late night slot into the morning. There will be 2 licensed bars (one of which is a Brazilian Vodka Smoothie Bar), food stands and other general entertainment going on (see attached flyer).

All bands and entertainment artistes are donating their fee to the charities and takings from the drinks and food stalls will also be going into the pot.
